Strengthening OHS Implementation through Awareness-Raising and Emergency Response Simulations at the Bener Dam Construction Project

The construction of the Bener Dam in Purworejo Regency is part of the government's efforts to improve national infrastructure. However, the construction sector carries a high risk of workplace accidents, making the implementation of Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) very important. This community service activity aims to improve the knowledge, awareness, and skills of workers and the community around the project in implementing first aid and emergency response based on the OHS Management System (SMK3). The methods used included outreach and simulation (drill) with an integrated approach through the stages of STOP, DRABC, CPR, emergency communication, evacuation, and evaluation. The results of the activity showed an increase in participants' understanding in identifying potential hazards, conducting initial victim assessments, and providing appropriate first aid. Participants were also able to systematically perform emergency response procedures, including handling common construction injuries and special conditions such as landslides and drowning. In addition, this activity increased preparedness in coordinating emergency communication and evacuation processes. The outreach and emergency response simulations have proven effective in supporting OHS implementation in the dam construction project environment. These activities contribute to efforts to reduce the risk of workplace accidents and create a safe, efficient, and productive work environment.
