Enhancing Public Safety and Health Regarding the Spread of Narcotics in Bumi Makmur District, Tanah Laut Regency

Abstract

The crime rate in Bumi Makmur District, Tanah Laut Regency, is often related to the rampant distribution of illegal drugs or narcotics. Illegal transactions have been rampant in this drug-prone area. The highest crime case in Tanah Laut Regency is related to drug distribution. Many people still lack concern for the condition of their environment. According to a survey from the National Narcotics Agency (BNN), the highest rate of drug distribution is through friends, amounting to 89% of the total cases that have been found. This counseling helps the community understand the technicalities of what can cause an area to be considered a drug-prone area, and what indicators there are within it. One way to overcome problems related to drug distribution is by conducting direct counseling to the community. The results of this counseling are that the community has a high awareness and concern for the people around them and is committed to jointly addressing it and actively providing information to the local police if they find or know of prohibited actions related to drugs and helping victims of drug abuse to be able to undergo rehabilitation
