Implementation of Emergency Response in the Tanah Grogot PLTU Project Environment, East Kalimantan

Abstract

Socialization about K3 in the construction sector is one of the strategic efforts in increasing awareness and understanding of workers and project management regarding the importance of K3. Through this socialization activity, it is hoped that workers and all parties involved in construction projects can understand work safety procedures, recognize potential hazards, and implement effective preventive measures. This K3 socialization community service activity was carried out at the Grogot PLTU Project, where workers are at risk in terms of occupational safety and health (K3). This community service activity aims to provide education and assistance regarding the implementation of K3 in the construction project environment. Community service activities at the Tanah Grogot PLTU Project in East Kalimantan have been implemented in a structured manner through several stages, starting from preparation, socialization, training, to evaluation and assistance. This entire series of activities not only provides theoretical knowledge but also practical skills to workers in dealing with emergency situations. The application of methods that include coordination with project management, provision of safety equipment, practice using fire extinguishers, evacuation simulations, and handling of workplace accident victims demonstrates that this program is designed to increase worker awareness and preparedness for potential hazards in the work environment. Through evaluations, improvement notes, and recommendations provided, this activity also encourages continuous improvement in the implementation of emergency response procedures and OHS systems at the project. In addition, routine mentoring and monitoring also ensure that safety standards are consistently adhered to.
