Author Guidelines

I. General Policies (Kebijakan Umum)

  1. Scope of Submission: Only original manuscripts (research articles, review articles, and short communications) that strictly align with JAIT's scope (Agricultural Innovation and Technology) will be considered. The manuscript must not be under consideration elsewhere.

  2. Language: Submissions must be written in clear, concise, and grammatically correct English (American or British consistently). Non-native English speakers are strongly advised to use professional editing services before submission.

  3. Plagiarism and Ethics: JAIT adheres strictly to the guidelines established by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE).

    • Plagiarism Check: All submissions are subject to plagiarism detection software (e.g., Turnitin/iThenticate). Similarity Index (Similarity Score) must be below 20%.

    • Authorship: All named authors must meet the criteria for authorship (i.e., significant contribution to conception, design, data acquisition, analysis, and final approval).

II. Manuscript Format and Style

  1. Format: Use MS Word document (.docx). Pages should be A4 size, with 1.5 spacing, and justified alignment.

  2. Font: Times New Roman, size 12 pt.

  3. Length:

    • Research Article: Ideally 6,000–8,000 words (including abstract, references, tables, and figures).

    • Review Article: Ideally 8,000–10,000 words.

  4. Reference Style: JAIT strictly requires the use of APA 7th Edition Style for all citations and the reference list. (APA adalah standar yang diterima luas secara internasional.)

III. Required Manuscript Structure

The manuscript must be organized using the IMRAD format (Introduction, Methods, Results, and Discussion), followed by specific mandatory sections:

1. Title Page (Halaman Judul)

  • Title: Concise, informative, and reflecting the core innovation/technology (max. 15 words).

  • Author Details: Full name, affiliation, ORCID ID (mandatory for all authors), and the corresponding author's email address.

2. Abstract and Keywords

  • Abstract: Structured (recommended) or narrative, 200–250 words maximum. Must cover the research background, methodology, key results, and conclusion/implication for agricultural technology.

  • Keywords: 4–6 relevant words/phrases (avoid repeating words from the title).

3. Main Body (IMRAD)

  • Introduction: Must clearly state the problem, the research gap, the novelty (innovation/technology used), and the research objectives.

  • Materials and Methods: Must be highly detailed to allow replication. Clearly state the equipment/software (e.g., specific drones, AI algorithms) used and provide the statistical analysis methods.

  • Results: Present findings clearly, supported by well-labeled tables and figures.

  • Discussion: Interpret the results in the context of existing literature, focusing on the technological novelty, implications for practice, and contribution to sustainable agriculture. Do not simply restate the results.

4. Concluding Sections

  • Conclusion: State the main findings concisely (without citations). Include limitations and suggestions for future technological research.

  • Acknowledgments (Optional): Mention funding sources or technical assistance.

  • Conflict of Interest: Mandatory statement declaring any financial or other conflict of interest.

  • Author Contribution Statement: Mandatory statement detailing the specific contribution of each author (e.g., Conceptualization: A.B.; Data Analysis: C.D.; Writing—Original Draft: E.F.).

  • References: Must be accurate, complete, and formatted strictly according to the APA 7th Edition. Prioritize recent international literature (minimum 70% must be published within the last 5 years).

IV. Tables and Figures

  1. Placement: Tables and Figures should be embedded in the correct location within the text, not at the end of the manuscript.

  2. Quality: All figures must be high resolution (min. 300 dpi).

  3. Captions: Self-explanatory captions are required for all Tables and Figures.

V. Review Process (Proses Peninjauan)

  • Type: JAIT employs a Double-Blind Peer Review process (names of authors and reviewers are kept anonymous).

  • Duration: The initial decision (Desk Review) is within [7-10 days]. The full review process typically takes [8-12 weeks].

  • Criteria: Reviewers assess the novelty of the innovation, methodological rigor, relevance to the journal scope, and clarity of English.
